OOC: OutfitAnd for the house see this thread--------------------------------------------------------------- Ayesha took a tiny sip from her glass and thought the red wine just ready for visitors. She had decanted the bottle an hour ago, and right now it had achieved just the right taste - not too sweet, not too dry, something that whould work for almost anyone. It would also work well with the lasagna she now had in the oven. She picked up the bowl of salad she had prepared, and shook it a bit to spread the vinaigrette around. It was just a basic garden salad, based on iceberg, with some tomatoes, cucumber, a little cheese, some bits of hard-boiled eggs thrown into the mix, together with thin slices of red onions. Aysesha added a small sprinkling of basil on top of the salad, just for show, as someone knocked on her door. "Coming," she called out and straightened her skirt before she moved to the door. She wondered if she had perhaps overdressed for this occasion, but dressing up a bit was something she rarely found an excuse for, so she had decided to make the most of it and added a little bit of lip gloss too, on top of her outfit and the perfume she now wore that hinted at sandalwood and berries. She fluffed up her hair and straightened, before she reached for the door and pulled it open. "Hi." She had invited Jared, Mark, Adrianna, and a few more of the staff members, so whoever it was, he or she would be welcome

Adrianna walked up to the door to the dinner party. It was nice Ayesha was putting this all together, and Adrianna was curious to exactly who awkward it would be between her and Jared since they were really in public like this together. She smirked a bit as she walked towards the door, the other day she had been wearing fancier clothing like this and it had really gotten Jared attention, she wondered if once more Jared would take notice to her attire. Reaching the door she looked at her clothing once more. It was simply, one shoulder black dress, with black pumps, her head hair in loose waves. She actually took time to gently curl her hair today, which was rare. Hoping she wasn’t over dressed she shrugged mentally and let her hand raise to knock on the door. Adrianna felt a bit of excitement for tonight, she really enjoyed Ayesha’s company the other day on the cross country field. It was nice to have a friend relationship building with her, one more thing that helped make Willow Brooke home. Her thoughts wander to wondering who was coming tonight, she curiously wondered if Jared would even make it. Adrianna knew who hard he worked, and she also knew how easy it was to get caught up in your work. Running her hand gently through her hair as she waited patiently at the door. In her hand she held a bottle of fine red wine. She wasn’t a big drinker, in fact only on rare occasions as her younger years and caused her to lose much of her taste for alcohol. She did however, still enjoy wine on the rare occasions and it was only customary to bring something for the host. At least that is how she had been raised.

"Adrianna" Ayesha smiled and leaned forward to touch her cheek against Adrianna's, left, then right. She was truly pleased that Adrianna had decided to come, as she had enjoyed their first meeting and their chat very much.
"Please, come in". She stepped aside and made a wide, inviting gesture towards the dining table that was, right now, set up for four people. But two more sets of plates and cutlery waited on the kitchen counter, just in case. She just hadn't wanted to end up with too many untaken seats, in case only a few people showed, as it would have looked a bit awkward, but she was ready to accommodate as many guests as decided to show up. "Make yourself at home."
She closed the door behind the doctor and looked her up and down. "I must say, Adrianna, that is a stunning dress." Her words were completely sincere, and not just a compliment offered out of courtesy. A little black dress never went out of style, and the one-shoulder look turned what could have been a simple garment into something much more up-to-date.
"Would you like something to drink? Wine or a glass of water perhaps? Something else?" Whatever Adrianna would ask for, Ayesha was confident she could see to it, given how much she had bought this afternoon, after work. The owner of the general store had looked rather surprised when she had pushed her cart to the counter and seen how much food and drinks she wanted to buy, as it was perhaps the largest single sale he had in weeks.

Adrianna smiled as Ayesha came to the door. Stepping into the house she looked around, “You house is beautiful” she spoke kindly. Then she held out her hand with the bottle of wine in it, “I brought this for you, it’s one of my favourites”. (ooc: sorry I don’t know my wines so I’m not going to name a brand lol). When she heard Ayesha speak about her dress she smiled once more, “Thank you, it was getting dusty in the closet so I’m sure it appreciates you having a party for it to be worn at” She laughed. Adrianna had brought tons of nice fancy clothes with her to Willow Brooke but very rarely wore them. She figured she should probably give some away as she wasn’t likely to use most of them ever again, but she couldn’t bring herself to do.
“I’ll have a water for now thanks, probably have some wine later on” She turned to face Ayesha as she had been looking around the room. She didn’t need to break the alcohol out too early, and she didn’t like to drink much of it, so she would wait until the party had really started to begin drinking. “Can I help you with anything” She looked at Ayesha ready to help with whatever she needed.
She could smell some of the food already cooking, “Smells fantastic”. She couldn’t wait to sit down and eat and chat with everyone. Adrianna loved the idea of a dinner with the WB staff, it would be rather entertaining to see how Jared and her could interact in public together, since their relationship was hidden and all. She realized the only time they were really together in public was at the barn and there she had a job to do so she could focus on that, but here, here she simply had food to eat and people to talk too.

Ayesha took the bottle and looked at the label. While she didn't recognize the specific wine from her own experince, she recognized where it was from and that it was not the cheapest wine around - quite the contrary in fact. "A real French burgundy, and a grand cru. That is a most generous offer." She smiled at Adrianna and nodded her thanks. Finding a bottle of Clos Saint-Denise in these parts came as a surprise to her, but it was a very welcome surprise. She would treasure that bottle and only uncork it for a special visitor, if she ever had one that deserved it.
"Oh, no. You just sit down," she told Adrianna in no uncertain words as she placed the bottle on the kitchen counter that separated kitchen and living room. All that was left for now was getting the bowl of salad to the table and waiting for the other guests to arrive.
Ayesha opened a bottle of water and poured a little into a glass, before she carried both to the table and placed it in front of Adrianna. "Here you are.
"And while it may smell great, you should wait till you tasted it, before you offer your final opinion." She winked and moved back to the kitchen to get the salad.
"Tell me... do you always dress up like this after work? If we want to explore the town together one day I might actually have to dust off one of my Alexander McQueen dresses if you do."

Adrianna smiled and did as she was told, although she knew it wasn’t an order. Finding a seat on the couch she looked the place it was very lovely. You could see it shone Ayesha personality. Adrianna loved that about a house, you could learn so much about a person. She smiled as she was handed a glass of water, “Thank you” she said politely and took a sip of the water. Ahh it was the good tasting water, that was some water that Adrianna found just repulsive, but she was a little picky in that area.
Adrianna laughed, “Generally if it smells good it tastes good too.” She said in an almost encouraging tone. She had no doubt Ayesha was a far better cook than she let on, especially from the smell. That wasn’t just a store bought Lasanga, that was homemade. Which appealed to Adrianna even more, she loved meals that were made from scratch they always seemed to taste better.
Listening to her question she laughed a bit, “Honestly no,” she chuckled once more, “But I say we definitely must do that and pretend we are tourists lost, I feel like it would be thoroughly entertaining as long as no one recognizes us”. She smiled, it would be quite fun, act all prissy and proper. “I have so many clothes that I used to wear around Florida that haven’t made it out of the closet here once, I should really donate them or something”
When you go out in a bigger city, it’s not that you really have to dress much different, but during the time Adrianna was in those big cities she felt like she had too. She actually enjoyed dressing a little higher fashion, but she had no need to do so here. The only reason she really did in the bigger cities was because she felt a little silly going into the city with her barn clothes on. Here it didn’t matter, people go it, and the town was small.
Thats the thing about small towns, everyone is watching you and kind of knows your business, but she found there was much less drama and judgment. Most people waited to get the whole story here before spreading rumours. Although there were some rumours that could spread like wildfire and Adrianna hoped she was never involved in those rumours.

"Oh, that will never work," Ayesha replied with a soft laughter. "I bet everyone would recognize us. But maybe in the next town we could pretend to be tourists." The whole idea was a bit goofy, a little childish, and not what Ayesha would have come up with. But now that she thought about it, tried to imagine it, she thought she liked the prospect of dressing up and playing tourist. Perhaps Adrianna's playful sense of humor was infectious, and it made her feel like a teenager again. She had been lucky to be blessed with a happy childhood, given loving parents and a mostly problem-free environment to grow up in, so letting her mind wander back to her younger days worked fine for her.
She put the bowl of salad in the middle of the dinner table, then settled down on the sofa by Adrianna's side. "We could do even better than playing just tourists and pretend we are an item." She lightly touched Adrianna's shoulder, and half closed her eyes. "Oh Adrianna, honey, you look stunning today. Let's forget about shopping and just find a hotel," she cooed in her most sultry bedroom voice.
She leaned back and broke down in laughter at her own words. "Only..." After another laugh she continued: "Only that I could never seriously keep a charade like that up for more than five minutes.
"And if word ever spread to Willow Brooke we would never hear the last of it."

Adrianna nodded, Ayesha was probably right they had both been here long enough that people knew who they were, or at least would recognize their faces. Adrianna almost spit her water out as Ayesha spoke again. “I don’t think I could keep it going for more than that either” she was laughed herself still at the thought, “Might get a few entertaining looks though” She smiled a bit. What made her smile even more was the thought of that type of rumour getting to Jared, his reaction in her head was highly entertaining.
“Could you imagine...” she paused just thinking about the rumour spreading around the town, “ ...we would definitely be the talk around the town.” Especially because it was a small town. Adrianna wonder if her business would be affected by it. Other than the fact that she worked for Willow Brooke and only had a few outside clients so it likely wouldn’t have too much of an effect.
Adrianna began to wonder where the rest of the a party was, although she knew the Martins well enough to know that it was all work work work, and play when the work was done so they would likely be late. Not that Adrianna minded either because she quite enjoyed Ayesha’s company. There really weren’t any other women close to her age around on a regular basis.
“I’m glad you organized a dinner like tonight, I think it’ll be really nice for the staff to all get together and relax rather than always being in a work setting” She smiled lightly. It was true; some of the best bonding moments for the staff came in situations like this, where there was no stress of everyday work present. Taking another sip of her water Adrianna crossed her legs and leaned back into the support of the couch. It was a very comfortable couch.

Still sitting at his desk at Willow Brooke, Jared was scribbling away on a notepad notes for teachers on certain things to avoid doing around certain individual students. It was better to be prepared then for them to fall victim to a student lashing out over a small word or two. His brain felt as if it had jumped shipped three hours ago, which had been when his son had left work to head out. Blinking, his eyes glanced up at the clock and cursed silent while throwing all the notes into folders in a hurry. He’d promised Adrianna he’d go to Ayesha’s house party. It had been the only way to get him away from work since he had been debating against going in the first place.
Quickly filing the papers in their proper place in the office, Jared left his office after locking the doors. He checked that no one had faxed anything in since the secretary had left right after Markus had. Nodding, there was nothing he thought while exiting the main building of Willow Brooke, locking it up after setting it’s security alarms. Skidding to a halt, his eyes glanced down at his outfit debating on changing or showing up in dirt covered jeans from the horses and a plain white shirt. Sighing, he took the short cut over to his cabin and changed clothes. It would only make him another fifteen minutes late; he hoped that wasn’t too late. But everyone knew how late he worked no matter the occasion. The only expectation might be the day Markus gets married, if Jared was still around for that day.
Running a hand through his hair, Jared locked up the house, trying to figure out where Markus was. Maybe in town? If he knew what was best he would show up at Ayesha’s house to save him from making a fool of himself in someone else’s house. Jared liked to keep his personal life and work life separate and still wasn’t sure how Adrianna had talked him into coming to this small get together. He stepped into his jeep and started it up while hitting the gas to ride off to the woman’s house. A feeling of dread rose up his back and nagged at his mind through the whole ride.
It only took a good twelve minutes to get to Ayesha’s house without a single person to flag him down to ask about something for the camp. Sighing, he stepped out of the jeep and stepped up the stairs to knock on the door. While he stood on the steps, his fingers tugged at the white open collar around his neck. The thing felt like it was trying to chock him even with it unbuttoned. He felt out of place with black dress pants on with a matching black sports coat over a white button up shirt.

"Oh, I can imagine, but I am not so sure I want to," Ayesha replied while still trying to fight down a chuckle. People actually thinking that she was a lesbian would not be good at all. She didn't mind people pursuing either heterosexual or homosexual interests, but she would share her bed only with a guy, not a girl, and people getting the wrong impression would only get in the way of that.
She cast a glance at the clock mounted on the kitchen wall and nodded slowly. She really wanted to get to know the people she was working with a little better in a relaxed setting that allowed for talk that was not all about work or happened as a chance encounter, but she had to wonder where everyone was and who would show up next.
Just then a knock disturbed her thoughts in a most welcome way. "Now, who might this be?" She rose and crossed the living room to the front door. The sight that greeted her when she opened the door was most welcome - and in a way unexpected.
"Jared. Come on in and make yourself at home." Seeing Jared without a lasso at his hip, or close at hand, was unusual. He carried the rope around with him so often that Ayesha had half expected him to bring it to the dinner with him too. She could only guess, but she strongly suspected that he didn't dress up like this very often, and if that was true, that he had done so tonight was a gesture she very much appreciated, even if going that extra mile had been completely unnecessary.
"Would you like a drink? Wine, water, a beer perhaps, something else?"

A heavy sigh passed through Jared’s lips just before the door opened. But a small smile took over the weary look on his face hating to give the wrong impression to Ayesha. He did appreciate being invited; just he didn’t do too well with people outside of work. That was just the kind of guy he was. From the look on her face it seemed like he hadn’t been honestly expected. He couldn’t blame the woman for that assumption. It was only natural that he would be deemed to rather spend his night in the office instead of sitting back with people. “Hello Ayesha.” He stepped inside after making sure to brush the dirt off his shoes by sliding them across the doormat. “Sorry about being so late, got catch up in some stuff.” His hand rubbed the back of his head much like his son when he was nervous or unsure of himself.
The inside of the house was just as he’d expected. It held a homey charm to it that only seemed to have Ayesha written all over it. There was an image of New York city framed on the wall, likely to remind her of the bright city she left to come to this small boring one. It still amazed him that someone would give up a life there to come down to Montana for a life and a career. But everyone held their reasons, only the student’s files were in depth enough to tell Jared why each of them was at the camp.
“I’ll take a beer if you don’t mind.” Jared wasn’t a large drinker, normally staying away from it but he was going to need a little something to get through the little party. Taking another step into the living room, he stalled for a moment seeing what the hell Adrianna was wearing. “Good evening, Adrianna.” It didn’t take much effort for him to give her a smile and keep the rest of his face plain. It was for the best their relationship was kept unknown of and given less room to start rumors. Jared had enough swirling around the office about people in town and the new staff members to live a lifetime.

Mark was late. He didn't like being late, but he was. He had a little something to make up for it. A very nice bottle of wine. He wasn't sure if she'd like it, but he couldn't come empty handed. Not now, when he was late. He had gotten distracted at Burger Heaven, chatting with a couple of his old school friends. They had been catching up and talking about Willow Brooke over some pie and a cup of coffee. He couldn't remember what it was that reminded Mark of the house warming party at Ayesha McMillans, but when he remembered, he nearly lost it. He left some cash for the bill and jetted off in a hurry. Of course since he was late he dropped by the liquor store and bought a bottle of wine. He noticed his dad's jeep as he pulled up in the old Chevy truck. It was a little beat up, but it still ran, and it did it's job just fine when it came to hauling equipment to or around the camp. He sighed and pulled the key out of the ignition, staring at the jeep for a moment. To be totally honest, it was a big surprise that his dad had taken off the time to come to the party. He opened the door and picked up the bottle of wine before he went to the door. He gave a knock and stood there, bottle in hand. He wasn't dressed too fancy, but that was Mark's usual style when it came to things like this. A bit dressy, but more on the casual side. Of course in this case he was just grabbing and throwing on the first clean things he could find. He just wasn't much for dressing up really nice. He figured the only suits he would ever wear were his wedding tux and the suit he would be dressed in the day he was buried.

Ayesha shook her head at him. "No need to apologize." She got a beer and a glass for Jared and placed both on the table. "And besides, it gave us girls a little time to chat among ourselves." She grinned at Adrianna briefly, before she toned down her grin to a smile and looked at Jared.
She could only guess how Jared would have reacted if he had witnessed them goofing around just a minute ago, but she suspected it would - at the very least - have involved some groaning and eye rolling, even if the man seemed very much in control of what emotions he displayed. Two grown women, and members of Jared's staff no less, acting like silly teenage girls, would have provoked some reaction, even from this rather stoic man.
She was about to ask Jared how his day had been when the next knock sounded at the door. "Excuse me."
"Markus, hi. I mean Mark," she swiftly corrected herself and gestured for him to come in. She still thought that Markus was a nice name, but it was his decision what he wanted to be called. "Good timing. Dinner should be ready in about five minutes."
That he hadn't dressed up didn't change the smile she showed him. She hadn't specified a dress code after all, but she hoped he wouldn't feel underdressed, now that even his father had bothered to change into something more formal than his usual clothes.
"Would you like something to drink? Beer, wine, water, something else perhaps?"

Adrianna watched Ayesha go to get the door, she momentarily wonder who that might but that was quickly answered. When she watched Jared walk through the door she nearly spit her drink out. What was he wearing? He looked...he looked good, really good. His slight paused as his eyes laid on her almost made her burst out laughing, but she was able to control that. Adrianna smiled as he spoke to her. “Evening” was her response to Jared’s Hello.
She suddenly realized what his dresses maybe to him when she walked in a room. She wished she was all alone so she could cuddle into Jared’s arms. But she couldn’t, and it really wasn’t the end of the world she was quite enjoying herself with Ayesha. Adrianna returned the smile Ayesha and chuckled a little bit, while at the same time she brushed a few pieces of her hair back, revealing the bare of her neck.
What many people didn’t know was Jared actually had a fun side, a younger, more carefree side than what he showed to the world. Adrianna kind of liked that it was something only she and maybe Markus got to see. Plus she actually liked the way he was now in a public situation just fine. Hearing the knock at the door she was slightly relieved, it gave her a moment to collect herself a little bit more. She watched Ayesha turn to the door, hearing it was Markus made her chuckle a bit on the inside. What a party she thought.
She couldn’t help but glance at Jared, she knew this wasn’t this thing; she wasn’t even sure why she felt the need to convince it to go. It was mostly because she really wanted the party to work out of Ayesha, and she wanted to make sure enough people showed up. She also couldn’t help but up and down him twice, now that she knew she would have a chance to do so completely unnoticed. She slowly uncrossed her legs and leaned forward a bit, her hair falling back over her shoulder. She set the glass of water down on the table.
What she actually wanted to next was not what she could do. So she had to settle with leaning back and crossing her legs again. She knew it was best if she didn’t stand up and show Jared the full picture, because a few days ago in the office it had demanded his whole attention. And there was no need to give away their secret relationship, especially not in the first few minutes.

Mark smiled when Ayesha opened the door. He handed over the wine as he walked through the door, pulling off his hat. "I'm sorry I'm late. Got caught up by some old school friends." He said gently as he tucked the bill of his hat into his back pocket. He slowly wandered through the house, looking about curiously. "A beer will be fine." He said gently as he walked into the room where Adrianna and Jared were. He gave a cheery little smile, looking between the two.
"Hey, Dad... Doc." He said, nodding gently to the two. Mark was still trying to figure out why int he world his dad was here. He really hadn't been expecting him to come when Ayesha invited the two of them to come. Mark had even tried to talk Jared into it, so Mark had to seriously wonder what it was that had changed his mind. "I thought you were planning on working late tonight, Dad?" He asked gently as he eased down in a seat close to Adrianna. He wasn't saying it was a bad thing that Jared wasn't working though. Lord knew his dad needed a break from work. Something about him seemed off lately, and it kind of worried Mark. Mark had snuck into the office while Jared was out doing some stable work, and he scheduled Jared a doctors appointment for next month.
Mark didn't care if he had to knock his dad out and drag him into Brooke Haven General. Something was up that Jared wasn't saying to anyone, and Mark didn't like it. He'd rather be safe than sorry.
