Mark pulled up to the sheriff's office and he just sat there, staring at the building as sat in the cab of his old, blue, Chevy. Mark just couldn't seem to catch a break with Willow Brooke. He just knew today wouldn't be a good day when he spilled his coffee all over himself earlier this morning. This day had gone to hell.
And it all started when one of the school teachers reported that Grace Marshall had missed the last several days. Mark decided he would look into this and asked her other teachers as well as her riding instructor. All confirmed that she missed all her classes. It just wasn't a good thing at all. Something didn't sit well. He went to check in with the stable hands and see if she had taken care of Phantom. That would really answer the question of if she was hiding out or she ran off. She and the horse seemed to have quite the relationship lately. She wouldn't ignore him as far as he understood.
He wasn't happy to be here at all. He looked to Grace's file on the seat next to him and sighed before he picked it up and got out the car. His father was going to throttle him when he found out. He hadn't said anything to any body yet just for the shear fact that he wanted to keep calm. He didn't want to cause any trouble in the event that Grace was playing some sort of game or something to scare the hell out of him.
He walked through the door of the station and stopped at a secretary's desk. "Julie..." He said calmly to the young woman at the desk. "Hey, Mark. Can I help you?" Mark licked his lips gently and nodded his head. "Yeah... um... I need to speak with someone. I may have a possible missing person report." He said gently. She looked him up and down and nodded her head. "Alright, give me a name and some info on them. " Mark handed over the file, sighing tiredly. "Grace Marshall. One of my students." She gave a soft nod and stood to go retrieve Officer Brandon. She figured that he would be the best candidate for this considering he needed to get acquainted with the camp faculty and the owners.

Nick had been sitting on his couch in his office doing paper work. Lying across his feet was his faithful companion Rex. Leaning back he gave a bit of a sigh, this paperwork thing was definitely not his cup of tea, but he had enough of it to do. Not that he had really done a lot of arresting, but the guys had been doing a lot of speed trapping lately on a strip that seemed to attract aggressive drivers who way exceeded the speed limit. Willow Brooke was such a small down and the tourists that passed it were in way to much of a hurry and thus made them a potential risk to the citizens of Willow Brooke. So here Nick was signing off on a bunch of stuff.
Looking up as he heard a knock at his door he smiled at Julie. "Sir, there's a Markus Martins to see you about a Missing Persons Report." Nick was almost shocked to hear those words used in Willow Brooke. At least there was some excitement for now, although it wasn't really the type of excitement that Nick particularly wanted to here. Missing persons were never a fun thing to do, and it was unfortunate how many times they were either never found, or found dead.
Nudging Rex off his feet the dog jumped down and followed Julie out the door. Nick wasn't long behind walking out he saw Markus standing there looking rather exhausted. "Markus right?" He held out his hand to him, "Nick." He said introducing himself quickly. "It's unfortunate to meet you this way." Nick was really hoping this was a false alarm, after all they dealt with troubled kids right? "Why don't we go to my office." He suggested as this was clearly a matter that whole building didn't need to say. Leading the way Rex trotted in and jumped up on the couch grabbing a chew toy on the way.
Motioning for Markus to take a seat he walked and sat on the other side of her desk. "So why don't you tell me about who's missing." This was likely the best place to start, "I'll need a description of them, when they were last seen and what they were wearing. And any pictures would be great." He was most definitely not looking forward to this, and if this person happened to not actually be lost he would definitely give them a talking too.

Mark was standing by Julie's desk, looking over some pictures from the past. There was one with Mark in it when he was a little kid. It had to be before his mother died. Maybe the year before. He was in the patrol car with one of the officers. He sort of remembered that day, but it was kind of iffy. He got to ride in the patrol car while his parents rode horseback in the parade. He remembered it had been a very exciting experience. He thought he might vaguely remember telling his mother and father that he wanted to be a police man when he grew up after that.
He looked up when he heard his name and he gave a soft nod. He took Nick's hand and gave it a firm, yet gentle shake. "Just call me Mark." He said calmly in answer. He only nodded his head. The circumstances in which they were meeting were definitely not so great. He really wished he could have avoided this all together. He gave a nod and made his way into Nick's office, settling himself into a seat opposite Nick's office chair.
He sighed and held the file out to Nick. In the file would be her general information as well as why she was at Willow Brooke, and if she had a rap sheet it would be included in there, and a Polaroid of her. "Her name is Grace Marshall. She's sixteen, dark brown hair, green eyes, stands at maybe five nine or ten. She's been missing at least three days. She hasn't been to any of her classes, riding lessons included. The stable hands tell me that she hasn't been to visit the horse she was assigned, which is strange because she takes care of the horse all the time. I asked around the camp and none of the students have seen her for the last few days. Not even her cabin mates." He said, staring at the manilla folder the file was nestled into.
What would the courts think when they found out about this? What would his dad do? Jared would throttle Mark for sure. Probably lecture and fuss at Mark about how this never happened under Jared's watch. Demand to go back to working full time at the camp probably. Mark just couldn't seem to catch a break, and that was ever so frustration.
