It had not been long since Ellie had arrived here, she was tired and yet drained of energy. But she had smelled the scent of hay around the area had the feeling horses were here. Although she had heard her father mention they use horses for treatment or something along those lines. Inside her mind she was smiling, she loved horses and then thought of Mosie, her bestfriend. She started to miss her, but hoped one day she'll be able to see her again.
She felt the cold air through her jacket and other layers she ended up wearing to keep herself warm. Her hair was in two low pigtails so it wouldn't blow whenever the cold winds came. This place was going to take some time getting use to, it felt like a small town, then again it is a small town. Everyone possibly knew of who another is around here.
Sighing as she watches her breath turn into clouds, she walks up to the stables where it read Mare's and Gelding's. When she walked inside she saw some of them were inside as some were roaming around. Ellie had smiled at the sight of them, she comfortable around them. She always has been comfortable around horses. Rescued or not, it was as if she could relate to a few of them.
Although one of them had caught her eye. A Thouroughbred that has a ligh brown color who seemed calm was looking right at Ellie. She smiled at the mare and wished to walk over to her but didn't want to take any chances of getting caught. She learned everyone here is assigned a horse to take care of and such. Yet she was unsure if someone was already helping take care of her or not.

OOC1 : I think this thread should be moved to the Stables, as you mention Ellie moving inside.
Ayesha bit into an apple and chewed, leaning against the frame of the stable's back door. She had come to spend some time with Dance, maybe saddle her up and explore the cross country course Willow Brook had. She knew they would both enjoy that exercise and Dance was well-suited to cross country riding. All she needed was some jumping exercises and a little endurance training and she would be just about perfect. Not that Ayesha didn't consider her mare pretty much perfect to begin with, given how much she loved her horse.
Dance flicked her ears and raised her head slightly, snorting in anticipation of the ride she hoped would come her way, and at the scent of the apple she knew she would get a bite of.
Ayesha's eyes wandered from her horse to the girl who had just eyed the mare, wondering who she was and what had brought her to Willow Brooke. But whoever she was, Dance seemed to be interested in her and turned her head back to look at the girl. It was rare enough that the mare displayed an interest in people she didn't know.
Ayesha broke a bit off the apple and offered it to Dance, as she stepped closer to her stall. The mare scooped the piece from her hand greedily and happily, stretching her neck out a little further to reach for the rest of the apple in Ayesha's other hand.
"Oh no, you don't," she admonished the mare, drawing back the hand holding the apple, and laying her other hand on the mare's head and giving it a little friendly push. "Not all at once."
Finally looking at the girl, Ayesha gestured for her to come closer. "If you move slowly, I think Dance wouldn't mind meeting you." Whoever the girl was, as long as Dance was interested in her Ayesha would give her a chance to get closer to the horse.
OOC2: I don't think you have claimed a horse yet, so I just wrote this assuming the horse you mentioned could be Dance. Your description is close enough that it might be, I would think.

((OOC: I was unsure of how to claim a horse.. I was looking at Gazel in the post though))
Hearing someone come in Ellie didn't pay attention. She thought it was another student or could be hearing things that are the abnormal. Her mind was elsewhere today, wondering if her mom was going to be okay due to her drinking issues. What if her father isn't able to bring home the money and even help take care of her mother. Ellie felt as if she were the issue of it all. Placing stress on her father due to her actions, yet keeping a depe dark secret no one will ever know. And Mosie, poor Mosie who had done the best she could to be there For Ellie. Now being miles apart from one of her closest friends maybe Mosie will meet someone new and not have to worry about being so alone. Although Ellie never told Mosie about the dark secret her brother had done to her those months to a year ago.
Ellie looks iver hearing an apple being eaten and realized she was not hearing things. Someone had actually walked inside of this stable. It was an older looking women, maybe a teacher here. Did she follow me here? Ellie had thought to herself unaware someone had watched her walk inside. She didn't feel bothered or anything, she gave a soft closed lipped smile and then looks back over at the horse. Her eyes peered over to another horse who had looked over at her, Ellie guessed the animal thought she was looking at it. Then again they were both nearby one another in a way.
Hearing her tell the horse no about the apple, Ellie softly giggled for it brought back memories of the horse she use to ride at Mosie's ranch Star Gazer. She remembered of how the paint use to try and steal the apple from her whenever Ellie tried sharring it. Then again, Ellie usually carried another apple to give to the paint for her to have completely so the horse would have a treat before going on a trail ride.
Hearing the older female gesturing for Ellie to come closer Ellie nods. Ellie usually took slow calm steps towards any horse to show she would not harm them, yet not wanting to spook them either. Memories flooded in her mind once again of when Mosie introduced her to Star Gazer. The beautiful paint tended to spook quickly yet from what Mosie had told her, Star Gazer had been abused and neglected. Ellie could related to the horse, knowing what its like to be neglected by the one who was meant to love and take care of you.
The memories vanished away as she had gotten close enough to the mare, Ellie held out her hand for the horse to breathe in her scent. It was something Ellie had done to any animal, she felt it showed them trust and yet to have her scent so they know of who she is. Ellie smiled as the mare wanted her to rub the bridge of her nose. She then looks at the older girl and asks, "Is she normally like this around new comers?" For she's never seen a horse let someone freshly new wanting someone to pet them before.

OOC: Ahh. I think I misspoke. As a student you are assigned a horse - you don't claim one. Didn't have Gazelle on my mind given the horses you mentioned in your character bio.
Dance took a step back and to the side as the girl came closer, brushing against the wall of the stall, eyeing her. The mare's ears flicked up in attention, but then she took a step forward again and sniffed at the hand offered, before she looked to the familiar presence in the stable.
"It's okay," Ayesha told both the girl and her horse, running her hand gently down the mare's nose, then over her flank as far as she could reach over the stall door. "And no," she answered, some puzzlement in her voice, as she looked into Dance's eyes. "Normally Dance is quite shy around strangers."
Ayesha looked down at the girl and considered how she had approached - slow, careful, giving the horse time to get a good impression of her. That very much met with her approval, and it showed in her smile and voice when she asked: "You have been around horses before, have you?"
It was either that or the girl was an absolute natural with horses, but going by Dance's reaction she felt save to assume that it was the former, not the latter. She had to know something about horses, or she would never have drawn Dance's attention the way she had.
Ayesha broke another piece off the apple and fed it to the mare. Leaning a little over the stall door she whispered "don't you get too close to her or I will get all jealous," into the mare's ear in Arabic. Of course she knew Dance understood neither English nor Arabic, but she would still pick up the slightly teasing - but mostly affectionate - tone, and Ayesha just liked speaking in Arabic, as it reminded her of her mother.
"I'm Ayesha, by the way," she mentioned, looking down Dance's face at the girl. "Miss Mc Millan to you when we meet in the English class, but that's not the here and now. And this little lady here is Wind Dancer - Dance for short."

Ellie smiled as she started to pet the horse named Dance, and had started to miss Star Gazer a little bit more. She nodded her head when Ayesha had mentioned her name, and just be sure to call her Miss. McMillian. Ellie had the feeling she was a staff member around here just didn't know if she was a councilor or not. "I'm Eleanor Nash. I go as Ellie though." She said, and yet thought it was fair to a teacher to at least know who her students are around here. Yet with Ellie not being from around the area, she might as well break down some barriers and at least give out her name at this place.
She noticed that Ayesha saw how she came up to Dance. Of course she's been around horses, in the past year or so and she normally came up to an animal slow and calmly. For if she had casually walked up, the horse would have its ears back and wanting to back away from her. But walking up to Dance the way she did it kept the animal calm and able to read her. "My friends family owns a ranch of mainly rescued horses. I ended up taking care of one of them back at home there. I named her Star Gazer, she's a beautiful pain of white and brown splotches and had sky blue eyes. She came from an abusive home and was neglected." Ellie was going to continue from there but decided to stop there unless she was sked to continue.
"How old is Dance?" She asked changing the topic around, towards the horse who was now looking for an apple Ellie didn't have. She laughed a little as she was able rub behind her ears and down the center of the horses face between her eyes. Ellie could tell the horse was enjoying it all. Dance seemed like a good horse and could tell Ayesha and the horse have a good connection. The horse was playful and she could tell Ayesha liked to joke around at times. Ellie had always thought, people and horses usually have a connection with one another. To where as if they both could feel the others pain and resemble another.

Ayesha thought about what Ellie had told her. A ranch of mainly rescued horses sounded a little bit like Willow Brooke, and she wondered if that was why the girl had been sent here, instead of some other place - because it was a somewhat familiar surrounding for her. But, she thought, even if that was not the main reason, it was a good start. Some of the students were completely new to horses and riding, and just learning the basics could take quite a while.
"She's seven. I've had her since she was a yearling." She took another bite from the apple, then fed the rest to Dance, who seemed quite happy with both the attention and her treat.
"Usually she doesn't warm up to new people this fast - or at all. But maybe she's getting curious about her new surroundings and all the people constantly coming and going." She was more talking to herself than Ellie, just thinking out loud. "Her old stables back home were much smaller, home to only three or four horses at a time."
Ayesha looked around and smiled to herself. Willow Brooke was a small school, but it was certainly big on horses and the stables were huge. Perhaps Dance would overcome her shyness here. Not that it was a real problem, but Ayesha didn't mind Dance making a few friends, and teenagers making friends with the horses was part of the whole idea behind Willow Brooke. But neither would it hurt the students to make one or two two-legged friends too - or at least come to trust some of the staff, so she decided to keep the conversation going a little longer.
"Where are you from, Ellie? Dance and I lived in New York the last couple of years."

((OOC: Sorry about the wait... I was busy))
Ellie had nodded her head and smiled hearing a little bit about Dance. She had stopped petting the horse and just looked around the pasture a little bit. Glancing around at the other horses and a paint had caught her eye. He was buitiful for a gelding, and yet he reminded her of the horse she helped take care of. Star Gazer loved to run, sometimes Ellie loved having a challenge of trying to train the horse to where she doesn't have to run all the time.
She listened to Ayesha talk to herself which was alright. At times Ellie has done the same thing too. Just not often though. She mainly spoke to herself when she's alone or with her horse at the time. But when she was drunk or high or somewhere along the combination of the two it was then she didn't visit her horse. Or when Owen her friends older brother was there at the home.
Her eyes looked down at the ground just from remembering those times of being of who she use to be. She missed her home somewhat, just not the mistakes she's made. Ellie felt as if she placed alot of stress on her father still. She should've helped instead of having him do two things at once. She then brings her eyes back up looking at Dance who was starring at her with her ears sticking up. It was as if the horse was probing into her, but Ellie looked away from the horse and looked at the others in the pasture.
Hearing a question, Ellie looks back over at Ayesha who had wondered where she was from. She heard her say she was from New York, wow that had to be a quick change unless she was from the country side part of the state. Ellie knew not all of New York was just one big city, there were some country side parts to it all as well.
"I'm from Washington. I miss how it use to rain alot there, made it easier to sleep on some nights." She said as Dance bumps her nose against Ellie's hand wanting to be petted on again.

Ayesha really had to wonder what had caught Dance's attention so much about this girl. It made her quite curious about what the mare saw in this young girl. Had she paid Dance so little attention that her beauty needed someone else to pay her attention too? Somehow Ayesha found that difficult to believe as she had spent more time with Dance in the last few days than in the weeks before their move to Montana. It had to be something about this girl.
She reached up and stroked Dance's head, scratched her a little and petted her, before she thought about what Ellie had said.
"Washington? But... Oh. Of course." She chuckled and smiled at Ellie. "Before you mentioned the rain I thought you might have meant DC. But I take it you meant the state? At least that's not so different from Montana, is it?"
It took her a second to remember when she had actually lived in Washington DC, but it must have been when she was around Ellie's age. Sometime from around 15 to close to 17, while her father worked there. Her parents had enjoyed the social scene, whereas Ayesha had found the city somewhat lacking to the wants and needs of a teenage girl.

Nodding her head Ellie looks over at Ayesha. "Yeah from Seattle, Washington. Pretty much the same there as it is here." She said which was true, if it was raining there then in a day or two it would be raining in Montana. Although she did love the rain it always made her feel calm and relaxed. If it were to rain during the day she'll end up playing in it even if it were storming out there. Ellie just dance and spin as it was raining. If lightening were to hit her she would accept it.
"So with these other horses, do we earn them somehow?" Ellie had asked not knowing of how the system had worked or not around here. She could tell the others around here have a horse they have to take care of. It wouldn't be new to her though, she was use to taking care of them back home. She loved having a challenge though with other horses who're rescued or anything in general.

Ayesha looked at her thoughtfully for a moment, before she gently shook her head. "I really don't know. I am not involved in the riding lessons or any other part of the school that centers on the horses."
Now that she thought about it, she realized that she had no idea how much control of that Jared kept for himself, and how much leeway the riding instructors had to assign a horse to the students they were teaching. It was something, she decided, she would have to look into sooner or later. Horses and riding were a large part of Willow Brooke, and finding out what thought went into that part of the school would certainly be interesting to a teacher like her. It was a different world, but in its own way it was still teaching.
"Perhaps you should just swing by the office and ask?" she suggested. "Mr Martins should have an answer for you, and if he's not there, perhaps Mark, his son, might know."
She was about to suggest that Ellie might actually wait until Jared was away, before she went into the offices, but then thought better of it. While Mark projected a much more agreeable face than his father, this was still Jared's operation to run. Sooner or later any student would come into contact with him, so postponing the inevitable would only be a temporary solution.
