Ellie had walked out towards the courtyard and sat underneath a shady tree. She felt pelts of rain on her but she didn't really care. Her thoughts started wonder through the depts of her mind, bringing back memories she wished she didn't have to carry. A burden she's been carrying along with her for so long, something she feared she may never let go from herself.
While she walked, she was carrying a hardbound journal she kept her poems if not some random thoughts inside. She was thinking about bringing the book out from English out with her but decided not to due to the rain thats been on its way. And as she sat down, she leaned her back up against the tree and looked around. The place was starting to actually feel like home now, but not entirely. She missed one of her close friends dearly, just not her friends brother.
"If only you were here, you would love it here in a way." Ellie had spoken outloud not knowing if anyone had heard her or not. Then again if Mosie were to be here then it would mean she and Ellie would possibly get into trouble. The two girls were known for getting into something mischievious(however its spelt).

Charlie was having a bad day, not that he had anything to compare it to. Most days for him were bad days, so he really didn’t have anything. Today though, he had been rejected, he had tried, really put himself out there, but he had been rejected. All he wanted was one friend. If he had one friend in this big lonely world he would be content, was that too much to ask for? Eight million people in the world, and not one of them could manage being his friend? He only needed a friend here until he could get out of this place, in fact, he had recently heard that the owner had a heart attack and his son was taking over, so he was hoping he could wreak havoc on this place and get out soon. But what if he couldn’t? What if he got in trouble? He needs somebody, everybody needs somebody or they will go insane, and although it could possibly be too late for him, a friend was still a friend, maybe a person to talk to could help him keep the little sanity he had left.
The horse will be your friend, you can tell it everything… The words his ex-parents said before they shipped him off on the plane out of Oregon, out of home, and to Montana haunted him. He wouldn’t ever be able to bond with a horse, he had to admit, he liked his horse. But he still wasn’t going to love it. Talking to a horse just wouldn’t ever be the same as talking to a human, a human who wanted to listen to him, not one his rents paid by the hour to let him rant his head off hoping he would calm down and not burn down another room in the house.
His thoughts were of no importance though. He tried to focus out his thoughts as he watched the rain splash down on the sidewalk and create mini waterfalls. It was a relaxing site. But something else caught his eye, a girl. Now, this could be fun. Although Charlie didn’t see girls as objects of sex, he didn’t see them as a real companion either. Sure he liked being in a relationship, a real relationship where him and the girl talked, but he had only had a few of those, and every time his heart got broken. Love didn’t exist, so he just charmed the girls he could. He flirted endlessly, and harmlessly. Nobody got hurt if it were just flirts. It’s when he actually fell for girls when he got hurt, when he actually really liked them, and wanted to get close to them. That’s when he got hurt.
So he made his way over to the pretty girl sitting under a tree, until he heard her talk to herself. Maybe this wasn’t right, maybe she had mental issues, and that’s why she was here. He wasn’t quite sure why all these people got sent here, he knew it had something to do with horses. Was it because they were insane and needed a companion? Or because they needed responsibility in their life? He knew all the horses came from troubled pasts, which didn’t make much sense at all to him. If they all came from troubled pasts, as well as the teens, then why exactly would they put them together? Two train wrecks just waiting to collide together to create what? An even bigger wreck?
He finally was close enough he could talk to her, hopefully she wouldn’t just get up and leave like so many before her had. He smiled at her kindly, hoping she wasn’t a lunatic that would jump up at him and throw a mad cat at him or something. “Hey, I’m Charles, well Charlie…” he didn’t really know how to start a conversation with a perfect stranger. He had never been in a situation where he knew nobody had to be forced to meet people, well he had, but he was young and only under the age of five. He had lost most of his adorableness since then.
