Lucy loved horses. Justice had been her only companion for a while and she had been a great one at that. Walking around the stables was a great way for Lucy to relax. There had just been to much stress at Willow Brooke lately. Everybody was stressed out about that one girl who had run off; Lucy still needed to sign up to help find her. Plus Mark, he was stressed out, and everybody was stressing because nobody knew how long it would be before Jared would get the OK to come back and help run this place. Mark was doing a good job, but he didn’t enjoy it. He was obviously somebody who rather be outdoors than cooped up in a small office doing paperwork. He wanted to teach kids to ride and spend his day breathing in the fresh scents of each of the horses.
Lucy had just finished taking all the tack off Justice. Her beautiful mare, she walked her toward the pasture with a bridal on. The mare’s eyes were a deep color that Lucy loved to look at. Lucy was off work for the day, usually she would go visit Mark around now, but they had both been so stressed lately. She needed some time with the horses. She felt helpless in his office, all she wanted to do was make it so he wasn’t as stressed but she was just a useless retard who couldn’t help with anything. She hated feeling like she was of use, at least the horses appreciated her. And anyway, Justice needed to be brushed. She took her mare out and tied her up at a post outside. This was her favorite place to brush the mare on a warm day.
Lucy made her way to the tack room and brought out a few different brushes. Walking back to the mare, she picked the curly brush out of the stack and started stroking her mare’s sides. She could tell a lot of hair was coming of her mare and smiled, it probably felt good to be losing all that hair. Lucy was pretty sure about making sure Justice had a nice clean, non-itchy coat. She brushed her at least once a week to make sure. The mare let out a snort and Lucy knew what that meant. She switched brushes and started patting her mare down. Justice wanted her to hurry because the grass and meadows of the pasture were taunting her large mare. ”Ok girl, have fun.” She said as she made sure to check the halter was on snug, but not so snug it could rub her raw and let her off her lead rope. She stood there, trying to think of what to do next. Occasionally she liked to stop by the mares with foals so she could look at their interaction with each other. Today, she just didn’t know what she wanted to though.
Slowly Lucy picked up the brushes and made her way back into the tack room. She wanted to meet somebody, she wasn’t quite what it was. Markus had made her maybe a little bit less antisocial. She just kind of realized, having some friends might be a good thing. She wanted to meet somebody she could relate to though. She wasn’t quite sure what she was going to do with herself.
