“Take your time,” Chris muttered and slowly walked towards the stallion pasture, not in a hurry at all to get there. But now that he had said he would at least take a look at his horse he would go through with it. It had been a stupid thing to say, but he wouldn’t take it back now and look like a coward.
Chris looked up and saw some grey clouds rolling in that looked like they carried rain with them. It would be a good excuse to get inside, once Jared had shown him the horse. The rec hall was perhaps a better place to be, if and when it started to rain, than the pastures. There were bound to be some people there, but the place was large enough that he could find some room for himself without being completely alone. Like most people he was a social creature and enjoyed some company, even if he couldn’t let other people get close.
He stopped a few meters from the fence encircling the stallion pasture and looked over the horses. If one of them got interested in him there would be more than enough room for him to feel safe while he tried to guess which one was supposed to be his. All he new was that the name was Shadow, but there were several horses there that he guessed could carry that name.
